Welcome, dear readers, to huhuu.news! This project is one that has been in the works for a long time, in fact it started all the way back in December of 2019. If you want to read more about the founding of this newspaper, you can learn about it here, as Matilda Hoviniemi, the original brains behind the project, already wrote a column on it! In this editorial, I will be speaking more about the future, touching on the goals and hopes of what this newspaper will one day become.
But first, more about the current situation. If you hadn’t picked up on this yet, you are currently reading the new official School newspaper of KSYK. We, the editorial staff, are all current students at ksyk, with the one exception being our teacher, Erika Perttuli-Borobio, who’s officially running things. This newspaper is a bilingual one, and we plan on releasing articles and projects in either English or Finnish. Some projects, like all our editorials, will be released in both English and Finnish.
The editorial staff consists of students from all grades in upper secondary, as well as a few ninth and eighth graders. This newspaper is made for the entire school, and we plan on releasing something for everyone. I am extremely proud of the work we’ve put into this newspaper before our official launch, as well as the team we have behind this project. It’s been months of work, and it’s finally paying off! Our entire team has worked hard to make this happen, and it has been an interesting couple of months. Our graphics team, for example, took a whole school day to work on our website to make sure it was ready to launch.
We plan on releasing new articles whenever they’re finished, so it’s definitely worthwhile to keep checking the website every once in a while! If you want, you can even work on your own project and get it published on this website, and we’ll even help you out if you ask by for example brainstorming with you or proofreading! Tervetuloa lukemaan huhuu.news -sivustoa! Katselet projektia, jota on työstetty jo hyvin pitkään; ajatus koulun lehdestä lähti käyntiin jo joulukuussa 2019, eli melkein vuosi sitten. Tämän pääkirjoituksen tarkoitus ei kuitenkaan ole puhua lehden synnystä tai syvemmin sen historiasta, jos sellainen kiinnostaa, voit lukea Matilda Hoviniemen kolumnin asiasta, löydät sen täältä. Tämä pääkirjoitus keskittyy enemmänkin tulevaisuuteen; päätoimittajana kerron lehden tavoitteista ja kenties myös hieman toiveista lehden tulevaisuudelle.
Ennen kuin voimme kuitenkaan unelmoida tulevasta, on meidän palattava tähän päivään ja katsottava nykytilannetta. Jos et ole vielä huomannut, luet koulun uutta virallista lehteä. Me, eli lehden toimitus, olemme kaikki koulumme nykyisiä opiskelijoita. Ainoa poikkeus on opettajamme Erika Perttuli-Borobio, joka toimii projektin virallisena ohjaajana. Lehden on tarkoitus olla kaksikielinen eli artikkelit julkaistaan joko suomeksi tai englanniksi. Osa projekteista, kuten kaikki pääkirjoitukset, julkaistaan molemmilla koulussamme käytetyillä kielillä.
Lehden toimitus koostuu lukiolaisista kaikilta vuosiluokilta sekä muutamista yhdeksäs- ja kahdeksasluokkalaisista. Tämä on meille erittäin tärkeää, sillä se tarkoittaa, että voimme todella toimia koko koulun lehtenä, ja yritämmekin julkaista jokaiselle jotakin! Olen erittäin ylpeä kaikesta työstä jonka toimituksemme on lehden eteen syksyn aikana tehnyt, sekä itse tiimistä joka projektin takana lymyilee. Viimeiset pari kuukautta ovat olleet erittäin mielenkiintoisia. Koko toimituksemme on tehnyt paljon tämän projektin eteen, ja työn hedelmät ovat vihdoin näkyvissä kaikille tällä nettisivulla.
Suunnitelmissamme on julkaista uusia artikkeleita kun ne valmistuvat, eli nettisivumme kannattaa käydä silloin tällöin tarkistamassa uusien artikkeleiden varalta.
