Keväällä kävimme etäyhteyksien välityksellä haastavan keskustelun siitä, kenestä tulisi Huhuun uusi päätoimittaja edellisen päätoimittajan Heikki Helpin tilalle. Meitä on nyt kaksi uutta päätoimittajaa, joiden käsissä on antaa Huhuulle uusi linja tulevalle vuodelle.
Joka viikko viime syksynä Huhuun toimitus kokoontui miettimään uusia juttuideoita ja tulevaa. Mitä seuraavaksi tehtäisiin ja millä tavalla? Millaiset jutut ehkä sopisivat koulun lehteen? Kiinnostaisiko kohdeyleisöä henkilöhaastattelut vaiko hauskat testit?
Pikkuhiljaa toimitus muotoutui ja Huhuu saavutti nykyisen muotonsa. Nyt puhaltavat kuitenkin jälleen muutoksen tuulet ja on aika ottaa suunta uudestaan. Tulevaisuuteen kurkistamme ensimmäisenä me, uudet päätoimittajat Iiris ja Vuokko.
Uudet roolit toimituksessa vaativat vielä omaksumista meidän molempien kohdalla, mutta myös koko muu toimitus on murroksessa. Kevät on tuonut mukanaan uusia kasvoja ja monet tänä vuonna mukana olleet abit ovat joutuneet jättämään Huhuun. Uuden ja vanhan toimituksen integrointi on vaatinut jokaiselta arvokasta työaikaa ja jaksamista, mutta se on sen arvoista. Vanhan toimituksen kokemuksen sekä uuden toimituksen raikkaiden ideoiden pohjalta Huhuuseen pyritään ensi vuonna avaamaan esimerkiksi videopuoli.
Kouluvuoden lähestyessä loppuaan Huhuu on onnistunut luovimaan haasteiden ja vastoinkäymisten läpi. Huhuu ei ole enää harrastusmuotoinen projekti, vaan ammattimainen ja lähellä opiskelijoiden sydäntä oleva julkaisu. Tässä vaiheessa edessämme piilee kuitenkin haasteista vaikein; kuinka varmistamme Huhuun aseman pysyvyyden osana Ksykin yhteisöä? Kuinka rakennamme Huhuusta yhä laadukkaamman ja monimuotoisemman median, ja millainen sen linja on?
Suunnitelmia ja ideointia Huhuun tulevaisuuden varalle tapahtuu onneksi koko ajan. Jokaisessa toimituskokouksessa ilmoille heitetään uusia ajatuksia ja syksyllä saamme toivon mukaan julkaistua yhä kiinnostavampaa sisältöä ja valloitettua uusia median kenttiä. Haaveilemme ammattilaisvierailijoista toimituskokouksiin. Haaveilemme ajatuksia herättävästä sisällöstä ja koko koulun yhteenkuuluvuuden tunteen lisäämisestä. Haaveilemme yhä upeammista ulkoasuista nettisivuille ja artikkeleihin. Haaveilemme siitä, että Huhuu on yhä enemmän jokaisen ksykkiläisen julkaisu.
Meille on tärkeää, että kaikki tuntevat Huhuussa olonsa tervetulleiksi ja hyväksytyiksi. Tavoitteenamme on, että hyvä ja salliva ilmapiiri toimituksessa näkyisi Huhuusta myös ulospäin. Vaikka toimitustyö ei ole aina pelkkää ruusuilla tanssimista, olemme toimituksena pystyneet ratkomaan ongelmia ammattimaisella tavalla, joka ei ole itsestäänselvyys.
Huhuu on syntynyt motivaation, huikeiden ideoiden ja visioiden, yhteistyön ja sisukkaan yrittämisen pohjalta. Sitä paloa Huhuun tekemiseen haluamme päätoimittajina ylläpitää vielä kauan.

We had the challenging discussion of picking the new editor in chief for Huhuu online. Now there are two new editor in chief’s, who are responsible of deciding what our school paper Huhuu will look like in the future.
Every week last autumn the editorial of Huhuu came together to brainstorm new ideas for articles and to plan the future. What would be done next and how? What kind of articles would perhaps suit for a school publishment? Would our target audience be interested in interviews or fun tests?
In baby steps the editorial formed to look like it is now. This spring and next autumn, the winds of change are blowing again and it is time to steer into the future. The first one’s to peek into the future of Huhuu will be us, the new editor’s in chief, Iiris and Vuokko.
Our new roles as the chief in editor’s still feel a little strange for both of us, but it is not only us but the whole editorial staff that is breaking through. The spring has brought many new faces to Huhuu and many abi’s that have been a vital part of Huhuu last semester are graduating. Integrating the new and the old editorial staff has required every one of us worthy working time and energy, but it is worth it. With the experience of the people that have been in Huhuu for longer and with the fresh ideas of the people that have just joined, we are, for example, aiming at publishing video content.
As the school year is coming to an end, Huhuu has succeeded in overcoming obstacles and hardships. Huhuu is no longer a hobby-like project, but a professional publishment that is beloved by the students. At this stage however, we are facing the most difficult of challenges: how do we ensure the stability of Huhuu’s position in the community of KSYK? How do we make Huhuu an even more diverse and higher quality media, and what is its alignment like?
Planning and brainstorming for Huhuu’s future is fortunately happening all the time. In every editorial meeting there are new idea’s brought into discussion and in the autumn we will hopefully publish content that is even more interesting, and cover new areas of media in pur publishment. We dream of thought-provoking content and increasing the unity of the entire school. We dream of professional visitor’s in editorial meetings. We dream of an even more gorgeous layout to our website and in single articles. We dream, that Huhuu will be even more a publishment for every student in KSYK.
It’s important to us that everyone feels welcome and accepted in Huhuu. Our goal is, that the great and permissive atmosphere in Huhuu would show to the outside as well. Even though working in a publishment isn’t always a bed of roses, we have, as an editorial, succeeded in solving problems in a professional way, which is not something considered self-evident.
Huhuu was born from motivation, amazing ideas and visions, cooperation and persistent trying. We want to maintain that passion for making Huhuu as editor’s in chief.
